Northfield is located about 45 miles south of the Twin Cities, with a population of about 17,000 - including about 5,000 college students.
Northfield was founded by John W. North in the 19th century, and is a city rich with history and charm. Northfield is home to Carleton College, St. Olaf College, as well as Malt-O-Meal and a wide variety of agriculture and business. Its history has seen the likes of Jesse James and the Younger gang.
